Holster Wax or holster treatment?
« on: January 22, 2007, 06:28:50 PM »
I saw a post here about some high-end wax or holster
treatment.  Does anyone recall the post or the name of the
product?  TIA.

Thanks there Roktman.  I'm with you on the shoe polish and
I use that to keep up my holsters, too.
I just got a wild hair to check on that wax or whatnot that
I recall someone raving about.  Just can't recall the name of
it.  I think the lister even posted a hot-link to the product.
Did a search, but nothing forthcoming.  Well, maybe I'll recall
it.  Thanks again.

I maintain all of my Hedley holsters with Renaissance Wax and, if color begins to fade, by stripping off the wax and applying the appropriate color (usually black) of Fiebing Leather Dye.

Here's a photograph of one which has been so maintained for the past six years:

Leather-Kote is a great product to use on the "inside" of the holster. Seals the pores to make for MUCH FASTER draw and yet holster still retains gun in place securely. Not sure how it does that but works great. Brownell's carry it at aound $8. a bottle. Have used for 3 years on 5 holsters and still have 2/3 of bottle. ~Ferg
It may be called a "mouse gun", but because it is easy to carry in a very wide range of circumstancs, the deep concealment pistol fufills the first rule of gunfighting (ie: bring a gun).
