Title: My R9's first trip to the range
Post by: jetman on August 17, 2008, 04:17:24 PM
Just another of the 100% reliable R9's you read about here. I know some of you have had issues with your "pups" but mine was PERFECT today at the range. A couple boxes of White Box and a box of 124 gr. Gold Dot JHP without a glitch. I can't exactly say it was "fun" to shoot.... but i do know that if I ever need it in a self defense situation it will go BANG. I've never had a lipmp wristing problem but just made sure I gave it a steady firm platform and it did GREAT! .... now I have to master it's tear-down and cleaning next.....

I appreciate the range update.  Looks like you and I are in the same boat - one range trip, great outing with 100% reliability and a cleaning on the way.

All,

This is good news.  I have been hearing less and less about problems with the R9 as the many, many months have gone by.  I believe that the R9 is now 'perfected'.  I am happy to be posting this opinion.

Jetman:

Thank you for that excellent range report!

As for that field stripping and cleaning process, it gets easier each time you do it. After four years, I've reduced my elapsed time down to a few minutes -- not as fast as Karl and Eric can do it, for sure, but "light speed" compared to the first time I did it.

Good luck!
