Hey guys, a new auction. This time for a Pre-R Farmingdale! Wow! (This is NOT an April Fool's Joke).
Here is the description of the gun in a nutshell:
Rohrbaugh R-9:
-Serial number: 136 (pre-R)
-Farmingdale made
-Blue carbon fiber factory grips
-HAS NOT BEEN SHOT since leaving the factory. Never carried or used in any way, so it's really a NIB gun!
-Comes with all original paper work, the box, and two magazines
-Gun has two VERY VERY SMALL marks on the underside of the gun as shown in the picture
-Easily rated a 98% gun
Here are the links to the pics.

I have not personally seen this gun, but believe it to be in exceptional condition, and a real find for the lucky buyer. I think a lot of you on the forum will appreciate that this gun is very special for a collector.
This gun is being donated by a regular forum member and supporter: CWC. Any monies paid for this gun over $1,550 will be paid directly to the forum as a donation toward the forum’s management and upkeep.
This will be done by auction. The last/highest bid on this thread before the auction closes at 9pm EST DST (forum time) on Sunday, April 10, 2011 will be the winner. The minimum opening bid is $1,600. Bid in increments of at least $10. The winner will pay $1,550 by postal money order or cash equivalent to CWC in accordance with directions he will provide. The remainder of the auction purchase price will be paid by separate check to me, as the forum's Admin, in accordance with directions I will provide. Payment must be received within 7 days of the auction closing. Any disputes over the rules, or who wins will be resolved at my discretion.
Legal Stuff: Neither I or the forum own this firearm. CWC will coordinate transfer. The gun must be shipped to an FFL of the buyer’s choosing. Any fees or tax incurred buy the buyer remains the buyer’s responsibility. The transfer will be done in accordance with all federal and local laws. My only role is to coordinate the auction and facilitate the sale between CWC and the auction winner.
My sincerest thanks to CWC for his generosity in donating this excellent piece for auction on the forum. This has the potential to be a great fundraiser, and a lot of fun. This is your chance to own a piece of Rohrbaugh history.
Please ask any questions before bidding. Questions about the auction can be addressed to me by forum PM or by e-mail at admin@rohrbaughforum.com. Questions about the gun can be addressed to CWC by forum PM.
Now – start bidding! Thanks.

Sounds like a great opportunity for the winner and the forum.
-
Looks good DD, I hope it raises LOTS of money for the forum.
-
That is a nice looking farmie. CWC does need to be both thanked and commended for giving up such a nice piece and allowing so much monetary room for the forum, we all enjoy so much, to make more than a few dollars for its support. Great job by a really good guy!
-
Phil, Here is your opportunity to buy the early Farmingdale with no R prefix in excellent shape. ;D
This is very generous of Corey. It will help out two good causes.
-
Excellent, Corey! Now folks, better grab this early Farmingdale!
-
Wolverine, It is something I will give alot of thought to. I do have one pre-R and one post R-Famie which were fairly recent purchases and of course did not come inexpensively and a couple of other Rohrbaughs. I will keep an eye on this auction to see where it goes, we shall see.
-
Very tempting isn't it! ;D
-
Yup, and then some.
-
I know that some of you can't let this one go... Who will bid first? ;D
-
Ken you are looking for # 126. Not too bad, this is # 136. it could be a close second for you! ;D

This SHOCKS me that nobody wants a NIB pre-R Farmingdale at this price. What the heck is going on here? I was hoping that it would raise some good money for the forum but now I'm wondering if it will even sell. Come on guys, help me support the forum.......
-
Courtesy bump!
-
Bad economy. :(
-
FOLKS! This is a rare opportunity to get a new early FARMINGDALE! Bid now! :) You'll be glad you did!
-
I think you may see some interest at the last minute?
-
Let's sure hope so. Someone may ought to go ahead and bid; who knows, you may get it! :)
-
Unfortunately I am not in the market for any new guns for a while.
I did consider putting a bid, but unforsene circumstances put a stop to that. :(

kj go for it. ;D ;D
-
John. How about you? Make you a nice one! :)
-
Not a lot of interest in something I wouldn't carry on a regular bases, I'm a user/shooter not a collector. I'm also more interested in pimping than preserving, I would feel bad modifying and refinishing a Farmie. :o
-
OK, John. Don't ever have a FARMINGDALE! ;D
-
Probably wont unless it's a super bargain absolutely mint condition and the serial number is below 105. ;D ;D
-
Bumping this back into the last 10! :)

WOW I can't believe no one has bid on this gun :(

Just about four hours left. I will there be a bidding frenzy? A last minute attempt to cherry pick this gun for $1,600?

Anybody care to match the $50 forum donation the auction created? If 3 or more people will I will pull out a "nice" new R9 holster out of the safe and pull a number out of a hat to see who wins it. Just a thought....... ;D
-
Congrats Marshbrook, a fine Farmie to own.
-
I'll match the $50 Corey, where do I send the money? Gene
-
To Duanne as a forum gift. Thanks!

Count me in. And if my number wins the holster, let's put it up for auction for the benefit of the Forum as well.
-
Cool, thanks Richard.
-
Thanks, Richard. All your support, monetary and otherwise, over the years has been invaluable.
-
Duane:
Thank you, Sir, for the kind remarks and for all you and "Tech Guy" do to keep the Forum up and running as the best gun board on the Internet.
I'm at Critter Creek Cabin with my lady for a long weekend but will plan to get a USPS MO in the mail to you on Monday when I get back to home base.
-
Looks like we have 3 so far so I'll do the holster deal on Tuesday. If you want in its not to late! I'll do it Tuesday at 9pm. I'll go pick a holster now and post a pic soon.
Gene, Richard & Adam all stepped up so far.
-
Ok folks here we go. This is a right hand front pocket R9 holster built by the late RJ Hedley (still miss him!). I got this one years ago from RJ along with several others at the time but have never used this one so its still as new.
If you want in on the chance to get this holster and at the same time help out the forum a bit you have untill 9pm Tuesday. Thanks

PM me your address and i'll get it in the mail in a day or two.
-
Thanks, CWC! Nice prize.
-
Gene, congratulations on winning a fine holster.
-
Yep! Gene; congrats on an excellent holster! :)
-
Thank you, CWC, for the support of the Forum and congratulations, Gene! That is one classic piece of gunleather.
-
Well done! cwc.

Sixty years ago when I was ten I won a frozen turkey at a supermarket grand opening. That was just before thanksgiving in 1950. This holster is the first thing I've won since. Seriously, thank you Corey and Duane. Richard, I would love to do as you suggested and auction it off to help out the forum. The problem is, I don't have a Hedley for my R9 and I don't know when I would ever get the chance to get another. So I'm going to keep it. I'll do something else to help the forum when the occasion arises. Thanks again, can't wait to get it. Gene
-
Way to go gene on winning the holster...enjoy it!
-
Your so welcome guys! I'm glad to be able to give back to the forum for all the enjoyment it's given me over the years.
Gene you already helped the forum, THANK YOU, by giving the $50! Keep it and enjoy!!!!!
-
Yep -- keep the holster -- its a nice little piece of Rohrbaugh history.
Thanks again to all, and especially CWC for getting all this going and putting up a beautiful R-9 and holster!
-
Corey, the holster showed up in today's mail and as expected it's beautiful. Thank you, Corey and all who participated. Gene
