Title: Cops4Kids Match for Charity
Post by: DDGator on August 01, 2006, 12:28:17 PM
For those who don't know Michael "Bobo" DeBethancourt, he is a nationally known trainer and expert in the use of snub-nose revolvers.  I have had the good fortune of meeting him and training with him and he is a top notch guy who really knows his stuff.  He and his wife lost their young daughter to cancer and he does his best to raise money for children's cancer charities.  He asked that I pass this along:

There are only 60 days left until the Isabella deBethencourt annual POSA Cops4Kids match, this year at the Harvard Sportsman's Club in Harvard, MA.

This match is open to ALL safe shooters, law officers, and law enforcement supporters.  All the money raised goes to the Jimmy Fund.

This match uses photo-realistic targets with threat/no-threat paste-ons, thus emphasizing judgment.  All stages are shot without being seen ahead of time, and each stage incorporates a non-shooting tactical element.  Last year everyone had a lot of fun and got in some fun training, as well.

Here is a link to a match poster:

I am asking you personally to help me get the match information to all the shooters on you e-mail list.  Please also consider printing out and posting the match poster anywhere it would be seen by interested shooters.

Last year the match raised $18,000 for children's cancer research and we hope to double that this year.

The registration deadline is September 1.

I invite you to visit the match site at www.posacops4kids.com for all the details.

If you care to support the match as a range volunteer, contact Bruce Klinger at baklinger65@msn.com.

Most gratefully yours,

Michael de Bethencourt
