* * *  I would be interested to know how many lawyers are employed by each organization. [ sorry, Richard, no offense intended ]. * * *

No offense taken.  As I've always said, there are lawyers . . . and then there are Lawyers.

Respect for and support of those rights guaranteed by the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution is the threshold test by which I judge any candidate for public office.  In my opinion, the Second Amendment embodies the most fundamental of human rights and provides the foundation for preserving those other basic rights set forth in our Constitution -- including those rights embodied in Amendments I, IV, V, VI, and VIII.

Yeah, I'm with ya on that, Richard.  But it's kind of like how I feel about my guns (or would kids, I imagine, if I had some): may have a favorite, but love 'em all, and don't want to lose any of them.

If you are in any real danger of losing any of them, the ACLU
will be of little assistance. The ACLU is a liberal luxury that will
quickly disappear in a real crisis.

The Constitution, Bill of Rights, United States Armed  Forces
and the indomitable will of the American people will prevail.

How many of the ACLU staff have served in the military?

That philosophy, which I share, was the basis of the plot for the 1980s movie, Red Dawn.  It became a cult film in its time, and it would appear that its message is regaining some relevance in the world of today.
