Forgive Thine Enemies
« on: July 30, 2009, 11:52:05 AM »
My older daughter just sent me this one:

Toward the end of Sunday service, the minister asked his assembled flock, "How many of you have forgiven your enemies?"

About 80% of the congretation held up their hands.

The minister then repeated his question. This time, everyone in the congregation held up his or her hand except for one small elderly lady.  Addressing the lone holdout, the minister asked, "Sister, why are you not willing to forgive your enemies?"

"I don't have any enemies," the little lady replied, smiling sweetly.

"Sister, that is very commendable. How old are you?"

"I'm 98 years old," the lady replied.

The minister gasped and said, "Praise the Lord, Sister! Would you be kind enough to come down in front and tell us all how you have been able to live to be 98 and not have even one  enemy?"

The little sweetheart of a lady tottered down the aisle, turned to face the congregation, leaned close to the microphone, and said, "I have no enemies because I've had the great good fortune to outlive every ****** one of the *******."
