Title: Impressed Sales Rep
Post by: Robar233 on June 14, 2011, 08:56:59 PM
I went to the range today with a sales rep from Sig-Sauer. After trying some of his stuff I let him try my R9. He put 12 rounds through it and he thought it was fantastic. Yeah, I know we know that.
This brought the round count up to 97 so I gave the pup only her second bath (first was out of the box). That is right 97 rounds, carried daily in my Meco pocket holster and not a problem. This is one hell of a pistol! The NP3 is fantastic!

Way to go, 233.  Great range results and happy to hear the Sig guy liked the Rohrbaugh.  Excellent!    :)

He showed me pictures of their new P290. It is a sub compact 9mm slightly larger than the R9. It does come standard with night sights. He said it is wider than the R9. I am sure the trigger is nothing to write home about. All this being said I would not trade my R9. It really is quite a special firearm.

It's a nice little gun, a little on the chunky side.  You might have to have one if you did NOT already have the best.  But they are about 7 years too late for that.  8)

It's hard to beat the R9!     :)

I had to qualify with my Kahr PM40 today. I have done this once before prior to my R9. I did this same quals with the R9 a couple of weeks ago. I failed the first attempt by one round. After the second 60 rounds I got a blister on my trigger finger between the tip and the first joint. I passed but two rounds less than the R9. As soon as I got back to work I sent out an email offering it for sale.
The R9 has ruined me! It is by far the best pocket pistol.
I still have not figured out why some of you own more than one, but I am working on it.

Robar233.  Owning more than one R9 doesn't affect everyone, just some of us.  I can't tell you what it is either, however, it's like holsters, or grips; or what have you.   I can tell you, there's no cure!    ;D

For me, it's one in each front pocket .  You never know if your dominant hand is going to be busy or out of action.

Good answer, Reinz.  I've never carried two before.  I wouldn't have a place for car keys, knife, and the like; also haven't been in places I thought would require two; but that, you never know.

Knives go on each side of waist band and keys just next to right knife in waist band.
Wallet in back pocket and spare mags in dual mag carrier that does not tumble in other back pocket.

I'm glad that works for you.  Just too much for me.

I left out the Fenix flashlight. This completes the trilogy. The money clip Swiss Army knife only counts as a knife with the TSA! The Microtech does count as a real knife.

The extra gun is natural for me. The extra knife is still a little awkward.  I got that idea from a member here on the forum, I'm sorry that I do not remember who.

Haven't been able to fit in a flashlight in casual dress.  Now the few times a year I wear a jacket, then I pack a light.

The extra gun does sound good; just glad I don't live in an area that I need it.

Got a new light from John awhile back, very small, and has 5 different modes.  Now this works.  Can carry it in the same pocket, left front, and not feel loaded down.

I remember when you got that light.  What is the name and model of the light?

When it comes to tactical flashlights, I try to bear in mind Clint Smith's advice to the effect that, "One light is none; two lights are one." I carry a Surefire Z2 belted in a Del Fatti carrier at the 8:00 o'clock position and a small ORB RAW NS with the Cree LED in a pocket.

I can't even recall how often I have used the Z2, and the amazing little ORB has "saved the day" (or perhaps more accurately, "the night") on more than one occasion.

I don't even know.  I didn't bring it with me to Ga., but mean't to.  I'll look when I get back to NC.

Great looking light, Richard.  I'll need one of these for the second light.  Thanks.

I've spent the last 20 minutes trying to find a price on the Raw/Orb and can't pull anything up.

Try this link for the ORB RAW:

http://www.lummi.co.uk/Raw_NS.html

I believe the current exchange rate is 1 US dollar = 0.6178 British pounds sterling.

The site is not very user friendly. To obtain the price for an item and its accessories you may have to add it to a "cart," calculate the exchange rate, and then delete it from your "cart" if you don't want it.

I hope everything works out OK with your order,I looked into those light and found a lot of unhappy people who had waited for 10+ months with a paid order and no light. The big issue is they are in the UK.
They did a group buy of those lights on the Seecamp forum with the Logo on the light.

I got this one from 4Sevens Limited Edition mini quirk
polished Titanium. (I think there sold out now but have black ones available)

Reinz:

If you have any difficulty with your order from Lummi, the principal of the company is one Rob Lummi Cheetham, who can be reached not only via the company's website but also via regular mail, e-mail, telephone, Facebook, and Twitter:

http://www.lummi.co.uk/Lummi_Home.html

http://www.lummi.co.uk/Contact_Lummi.html

The Lummi web site shows that Pay Pal can be used for payment. Assuming that you used that service, you have certain added protections over other payment methods for international purchases. Even so, since I steered you to the site, please let me know if you have any problems getting your order filled. I'll put "my best man" (myself) on the case.  8)

Reinz:

That sounds about right. If you haven't received the light by then, I would make a call to verify the status of your order. Then (with my apologies to the Rolling Stones), if you "can't get no satisfaction," send me a PM with the order number. I'll see what I can do to help.
