Elite Premium on Gun Broker
« on: November 02, 2015, 01:15:40 PM »
Anyone here looking at or bidding on the Elite Premium on Gun Broker? I was thinking of bidding but don't want to run up to price with other forum members.

Send a PM if you don't want to post on the forum.

Might be more efficient to ask for PMs from those who DO want to post?  I don't want to bid.

FYI, not my listing, but the reserve is $4999.  I'm not sure what the auction theory is on whether to bid up the price even though you haven't reached the reserve  or don't bid and let the seller see lower interest so maybe he lowers the Reserve when he relists.

Phil,

Thanks for sharing the info. There is a time not too long ago where I would have spent that type of coin on an EP but I really don't think you can ever count on being able to get out from under it if you drop $5K on it.

I especially dislike auction formats. Winning an auction by definition means you are willing to pay more than ANYONE else - which means you overpaid. Such is known as the "winners curse".

Still may toss my hat into the ring just to see what happens....

Right now I am the high bidder on this. His reserve of 5K is absurd.

Well that was anticlimactic :(

Norm - As the high bidder did they offer it to you or do you think we will see a relist with a reserve price somewhere in this stratosphere?

The gun store is selling this for one of their customers. They will do what he tells them to do, and your guess is as good as mine. In any case, someone is going to overpay for this.

It was relisted with a buy it now of $3995.  The seller said he turned down an offer of $3500.

I called and talked to her yesterday and she told me that the owner was mulling over an offer of $3950.00.

I thanked her for her time and hung up.  Not exactly telling the truth it looks like.

He told me the owner didn't really want to sell but was putting it for sale to see how much interest there was.  $4k is still too steep for me.

She talks with forked tongue. Everyone should withdraw and then watch what happens to the price. It is not worth 4K to me, but Oscar Wilde ( I'm too young to remember him! ) said it best..."My tastes in life are simple, just give me the best of everything!".
