I spent four years there--mostly walking into the wind. My rear view mirror still has the Hub of the South Plains in it.

I passed through Lubbock driving a top-down sports car (Triumph TR2) in August of 1959. Beautiful city. Great night life. Gorgeous women. HOT (100 °F +/-) at midday in August. (As I recall, my tires stuck to the asphalt of the parking lot while I was having lunch.   8) )
