Good to be Here
« on: June 07, 2004, 04:16:14 PM »
I'm glad I found this board. some one at Pistolsmith (Kahr) post it.

I tried to post my own avatar, but didn't show... any ideas?

I am not aware of any problems displaying the "personal pictures" -- I assume you are putting in the web address of a photo that is hosted somewhere else on line?

DDGator - Yes, I did use the URL of my personal avatar which is hosted in my own website... unless I need to use "", which I didn't use - I'll try that to see if it works.

OK - I think I know what happened, I failed to check the box.  It's working now.  Thanks.

Hello all..

I'm also new, over from the NAA site.

Seems like alot of Floridians, St Pete here.

Anyway, I've enjoyed reading this forum, &
it looks like I'm going to have to spring for
one of those R9s pieces.

Thanks for the welcome, Brenden - As you can see, I'm not much of a poster, but I do browse and read; a lot of good news about the New Puppy in town... seems like it's catching on.. problem is, these old arthritic hands can no longer rack the slide - and the recoil is just too much for me.

Pete - Jeff - welcome to you both  :)

Sorry to hear about the hands Pete - that is certainly one downside with semi's.  In fact tho my wife has mercifully not yet got arthritic problems in her hands, she does still find semi's awkward re slide management.  So - revo carry for her.

Hope tho you'll stick aound (ya both) and stay in touch when you can.

I know what you mean - I'm now into revolvers, mostly the 3" collector's pieces. I'm currently looking for a S&W 657 (.41 Magnum) 3", full lug, bead blasted... darn hard to find!

Hi oldfella,

Good choice there. Before the 657 came out, I sent Magnaport  my nickled #57 4 inch. They striped it of the nickel, cut the square butt to a K frame round butt with a 3" barrel and applied an electroless nicklel finish. They also added a crane lock along with their superb tuning job and of course their patented porting. I am very comfortable with it 20 years later.

Dear Fellow R9'ers: Thanks to TW, DDGator, RS9Carry, and all for your welcoming me to the site.
I believe I casually saw something in either Am Rifleman or AmHandGn. Magazine. Then somehow got from Google to this site.
I have been lurking for a while, mostly reading threads on the R9 itself and related technical issues.  It sounded like you all were more dedicated to this piece as anything I have heard on other type forums.
I recently dedided to acquire an R9.  I now have one on order since June 16, 2005 from Bob in Port Charlotte, FL. He told me it would more than likely be about 2 months.  I do not know if this will be an 's' or not.  Actually, it matters not to me, as I like both.  They each have their certain appeal.  I can point shoot reasonably well.
I was not sure how to post my new member info so I will start here:
I am 57 yrs. young, Married(again), and live in Hallandale, FL. I am back in Florida after 12 years in my native NY, having lived in Naples and Pompano Beach from 1977 to 1989.  Prior to moving back here, I was in London, UK for 2 yrs. I sold much of my gun collection at that time as I was unable to take to England, and NY was/is a bit oppressive when it comes to firearms. I was a Winchester lever gun collector and some Colt Sixguns, as well as many .22's. I plan to acquire just a few items for Cowboy Action Events, at which time I will start participating in that.
I now either carry a G27, or a KT32.  The 32 keeps my "attitude" non-existant.  The 32 is way better than nothing, but that's about it. The R9 is a dream of a piece for this environment, and I can still use the Glock for a 'car gun'.  An 1897 Win. Riot Pump keeps us safe when at home.  Cannot wait to get R9. Already thinking of a second one.
Many thanks to all for the great coverage and support of this fine pup.
Regards, Larry- "The Mouse That Rohr'd"

Larry,

From the Ocean State, welcome.

As I sure all the Rohrbaugh Forum members will attest to, the wait is worth it.

I was fortunate to have acquired my first R-9 from the classified section of this forum.  I had placed an order with a dealer for an R-9s. I had been warned of the potential 3 -6 month wait. Although willing to wait, I couldn’t say no to “one in the hand”.

Again, welcome.

Bill
