Well, you are probably right for the most part. On the other hand, I am turning 35 this year. I know, I know -- it even sounds young to me.
If your hypothesis turns out to be true -- that this is an older group -- it wont surprise me. I went through the same thing when I got my PT Cruiser. I started up a local club and just about everbody was older than me, some by a lot. But, PTs were fresh on the market and a lot of people were even paying a premium to get one. As a result, older people with more "discretionary income" were first in line at the dealerships.
I think the same could be true with the R-9s. The people in a position to plunk down the cash -- particularly to plunk down cash and wait a long time -- tend to be older.
This demographic changes over time as the product become more affordable or people who have "saved" for one for a while get on board.
