Title: How to get the locking plate to lock the mag base plate?
Post by: C0untZer0 on August 03, 2014, 10:29:12 PM
I took my mags apart today and I can't get the locking plate to pop into the hole in the base plate.

Is there a trick to it?

Not to state the obvious but have you lined up the base plate and tapped the bottom cover to line up the slot? Sometimes, the mag reassembly can be quite difficult. It took me awhile to learn the proper spring orientation so that I didn't reinstall it backwards.

I think there is a little wiggle room in the mag and the locking plate is moving all the way to the rear when I slide the floor plate on.

That sounds like the problem.

I had this problem with both magazines, can I really be the only one who has experienced this?

I shot myself in the nose with the locking plate - I thought I'd lost it but I found it just a few feet away.

This is the last time I am taking apart the magazines.

I finally got them to snap into place using a sewing needle to nudge the plate forward.

I knew it could be done.
Do it again now, use clear bag, try tapping front on table
do not loose little part   that is the only thing I can not help with.

I hope its not the last time for you,  taking apart mags.
You did the right thing, a good cleaning.
Did inner piece stick out at any time?
If something looks off or wiggles test floor plate with out any inner parts
