Brenden sent me an e-mail containing this photograph taken by a soldier in Afghanistan of a helo rescue mission. I was so moved by it that I thought it appropriate to post it to the Forum. The pilot is reported to be a member of the Pennsylvania National Guard who flies EMS helicopters in civilian life.
I would say that there are not many people on the planet who could gently set the stern of a Boeing CH-47 Chinook helicopter on the roof of a shack, on a steep mountain cliff, and hold it there while soldiers load wounded men through the ramp at the rear of the fuselage. That pilot and all those accomplishing this rescue mission certainly have "The Right Stuff"!
God bless the members of our military services!
