Look what I just bought!

I have wanted one of these since the first series came out in the 90's.  I found one worth the money so I finally jumped.  I had it to the range yesterday and I was impressed.

Nice! Looks like a hoot to shoot; what is the approximate trigger pull weight?

I am not very good at pull weights, but I would say about 4 to 4.5# range.  It is a lot like a 1911 with some Browning High-Power influences.  It has a link-less barrel, pivoting trigger, and external extractor but a lot of 1911 parts will interchange.

I shot a box of American Eagle 158 gr JHP through it as that is what they test fire them with at the factory..  Not one problem with any of the three magazines.  It got some attention at the range as it is real loud.

With its .357 Magnum caliber, your Coonan would pair up well with an IMI Timberwolf carbine also chambered for .357. I see a Timberwolf show up every now and then on Gunbroker, and a few of them have been NIB. I have a Timberwolf. I may now want to give a Coonan a close look.

The .357 Mag. is one versatile cartridge -- revolver, semi-automatic pistol, pump carbine . . . .

It comes with a 22# spring for 357's and a 10# spring for 38's.  They recommend running 200 rounds of 357's through it before trying 38's.  I have a friend in Minnesota who shoots one and he says the only issue with 38's is with the shorter length, so I plan on down-loading 357's to 38 velocity for plinking.

I completely agree on the .357 power and versatility. I have a Colt Python tuned by the master pistol smith, Teddy Jacobson.
