My review of the Glock 42 in Shooting Illustrated
« on: October 27, 2014, 02:50:59 PM »

Shooting Illustrated has put my review of the Glock 42 on-line a bit early...  Normally they don't do this while the issue is still on newsstands.

Check it out here:  http://www.shootingillustrated.com/index.php/34194/glock-g42/

Duane:

Your review is so good it makes me want a G-42. I don't need one, but now I'm thinking that I want one.

Great work!

A friend of mine bought one and he carries it every day now.

He let me shoot it and it is a nice shooting pistol.  His girl friend was with us and she really shot it well.

Good gun, but I'm not selling my Kahr P380 yet.

Does anyone have an overlay or a picture of this and a pup together for comparisons sake in size?

Thanks, Tracker!  That is good job security for me!   ;)

I like to read books on my iPad, but I still prefer my magazines in the dead tree format.

Good read. I wouldn't mind getting one, but I would rather hold out for the 9mm if it becomes available.

So, do you have an inside scoop that the 9 will be the same size or is it merely speculation? If you told me would you have to kill me? Ha. Well January is around the corner I guess.

I have heard rumors from Glock insiders that a 9mm in coming.  I did not hear a .40 is coming.

There is no reason why the 9mm couldn't be the same size frame.  This would be consistent with Glock's general methodology.  The frame is over-built for a .380, which is consistent with an upgrade to 9mm on the same frame.

Speaking of rumors...

Was the gun you tested one the ones that recently left the factory as to opposed to one of the earlier produced ones?

Mine was fairly early production.  I believe I receved it in late May.
