Title: Anybody "Ride"?
Post by: PursuitSS on August 03, 2006, 04:01:26 PM
I ride a 2003 100th Anniversary Harley Deuce (FXSTDI). I average around 4000-5000 miles per year. Considering the current price of gas ($3.08 for 92 octane), I'm glad I'm running 36 mpg in town and 48 mpg on the highway.

This is a picture I grabbed off of the net, I don't have any pictures at this time. I'll post some later.

I ride rice too and in my third full season with Honda VTX 1300 cruiser.  I do about 6k plus in a season, 2/3 of that is with my dear wife on board too.  We ride most weekends (at least).

This pic is 2 years old but one I could find - have some much nicer bags on it now plus some decals which are very close to a paint job in effect.  Time to take fresh pic this year I think.

I wave at ALL bikes, I do find that a lot of the "crotch rocket" crowd doesn't wave back though.

Bikes are bikes, as long as you ride! Heck I've even toyed with the idea of purchasing a Honda Rune:

BlueGrips,

I like sportbikes too but mine is kind of old school.  92 Yamaha Seca II modified extensively.  I keep mine in the corner of my liveing room as I live in an Apt. and it would not be safe to keep it outside.  My landlords don't mind as it does not leak anything, anywhere, ever.

Darn,

I wish I wasn't shy about driving on the roads with cars.

Maybe I'll buy one, and put it in the living room to sit on and make motorcycle sounds.  :D

You guys be safe!

or maybe we could combine the two passions and start
a new TV series of pistol packing bikers to be the 21st
century answer to Gene, Roy, Hoppy, Cisco, and the Lone
Ranger. Lord knows we need something to liven things up
a bit.

Tracker, I just thought of something. What do you think the Navy thought of a Marine as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs?

Tom,
What ever the reason and don't forget the Marine Corps
is a department of the Navy--we all wear Navy Wings:
I think at this juncture the admirals are quite happy and
relieved that it is General Pace and not them this go-around;
only my opinion.

If you would give me $700,000,000, I would land a Piper Cub on a carrier, during the daytime only under calm conditions.

Strictly, VFR.

After your payoff you would think it is so much fun that
you would pay them to let you do it. Since the 172 doesn't
have a tailhook we'll have to rig the barrier to stop you but
at that slow speed you could probably stop it with brakes only.

I'm starting to chicken out.

good thinking; I was young, dumb, and fearless. It was only
later that I started to think about how dangerous it was to
land on a ship, especially at night.
