Just wondering...what were the serial numbers for the last R9 Rohrbaughs made?
-
I had to go back and find this as I remembered posting it years ago...
According to Duane:
"For those keeping track, the last frame made in Deer Park was serial number R6678."
"Also, the last .380 frame made in Deer Park, NY is: K391. :)"
So they made 47 early R9s with no R prefix: #101 through #147.
Approximately 15 early R9s with custom serial numbers.
They made R100 through R6678: so 6578 total R prefix serial number guns.
Total 9mm: approximately 6640 guns
Total .380: 291 guns."
ECR - please correct if incorrect

Just wondering as I just purchased a New in the Box #6074.
-
How did yours shoot? Or is it just a collector's piece?

Safe Queen.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I remember someone posting that only about 10% made were the models without the sights (non-S).
Does anyone have an exact number and range on those?
Thanks in Advance.

Also, I think the last serial numbers weren’t the last guns produced. Earlier serial frames were sent off for coating and returned to the factory after the higher serials left the factory. So the last guns made actually had lower numbers.

This is the last Rohrbaugh built. Serial is 6336. Higher serials had already left the factory.

R6336 was the actual last R9 to be made. We had a few frames that came back from being treated in different color coatings and this one was the last frame lying around before Remington bought the company. I built this out of many special coated and polished hand-picked parts we had at the time, also just lying around the shop.
It currently resides in my home safe along with serial number 2, essentially as "A First and The Last Rohrbaugh R9 Pistols" made."
R6336 happens to be a very special firearm that is rather jewel-like.
They will eventually go to my son when my time comes.
