Aluminum grips and mag extensions
« on: October 24, 2010, 11:13:00 AM »
I just received a beautiful set of grips for my pup from AlumaGrips. They installed and fit perfectly.  I spoke with Chris Lynch at AlumaGrips and he told me he had seven sets left over for the R-9 so if you are thinking about aluminum grips to replace the g=10s, drop him a E-Mail.
I also received a magazine extension from John and am very impressed with the quality and the engineering that went into this great little item. It installed in less than a minute with no fit problems.  Just a heads up.

I just recently sent my brand new R9s Stealth Elite back to the factory. They had to remove the black checkered aluminum grips similar to the ones pictured here, except mine had the Rohrbaugh logo on the top half of each grip. I wasn't happy that they removed my brand new grips, but they told me at the factory that these grips created problems with the screw inset elongating, creating an unstable and even loose grip. I had only shot my pup once, and noticed that the left grip was slightly movable. So they replaced it with approved Hogue Extreme G10's. They sent me my former grips back as well. Sometimes the cure is a bitter pill to swallow...but I know how you feel about those grips - they are really sharp.

I found some more info on the old aluminum grips, it seems they were provided by a third party vendor and there were quality issues and thats why Rohrbaugh discontinued the sale of them

Here is the post I was referring to.

I have an update on this problem.  I sent in the grips per Marias request and got a call from her today.  They would rather not replace with more aluminum grips, and since I don't care for the wavy outline on the Hogue grips, they will be refunding me for them.

The grips were done by a 3rd party, and the factory is not happy with the consistency of them from one set to another.  It appears that I got one of the bad sets.  It also looks like they may be dropping the aluminum grips because of poor consistancy.

I'm glad I finally sent in the grips, and that they're refunding me for them.

Any pictures of these?

I'm curious what a full silver pup would look like.  Also I guess they could be Robared.  Too bad they didn't work out.

Here are the silver (or natural surface) aluminum grips which were by produced by Alumagrips. I don't often use them on my R9, preferring the black carbon fibers or aluminums in OD Green. However, this might help in showing how a full "silver" pup would appear.

Just as I suspected.

A full "silver" pup would appear awesome!

Thanks for the pup porn!

Hello all,

I would like the mag exten. grips as the pup is a bit small in my hand.

Who has the best?  How do I get them?

Thanks in advance.
