Corey, very true and possibly three Rohrbaughs depending on rarity, but you see, Jhatmaker loves 1911's and Rohrbaughs; so it seems to satisfy his dilemma is to get another of each.    ;D

I talked to my wife about getting a .380 Rohrbaugh , so, she went to a large gunshop we have here so she could "hold the pistols at the same time" and she held the little Rohrbaugh and thought about the .380 (R9 is too much kick for her) Then she held a bunch of .45's and looked at the big hole in the end. She decided she wants a Kimber CDP II w/Lasergrips. She likes the balance and the slide can be operated by her, something she has a herd time doing w/ the Rohrbaugh.....  so, looks like another .45 headed this way at least.
(Think I will trade in my Springer .45 don't care for it too much anyway,  gives me a chance to get rid of it)

Chief.  Could it be that someone has influenced her thinking?    ;D

I tried talking to her into the .380 R  The rest was all her. She does like firing my .45's more so then my 9's though.

I think I'll just have to listen to all this great advice. I just recently had a custom 1911 built by a local shop who just starting building their own line of 1911's.  It's a commander length bobtail, with the chainlink serrations on the back grip (similar to Ed Brown's). I shot a lot of 1911's, from cheap to high end, and I've found this one shoots as well as any Ed Brown I've ever had the pleasure of shooting. That being said, I still want an Ed Brown to add to the collection :)

Hopefully will pick up the Stealth by next week.
Is that a 9mm in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?

Congrats to you both on the 1911's.  I've not shot that many 1911's and sure you will like the ones' you are getting.  I like the one I have, so it's a keeper.    :)

A Colt Gold Cup NM was my first 45acp, 28 years ago, I still have it and doubt I would ever sell it.

There seems to be that slight doubt there, John, however 28 years is a long time!    ;D

Mine as well, Bought it in 1975, I was shooting for the  Navy and they allowed us to buy our own pieces if we wished. I never appreciated just how good that gun was until years later. (Or maybe it was until I got "older" and not quite as accurate) :)

Way to go, Brenden!

I'm personally partial to Colts, if only for sentimental reasons. The first time I ever shot a 1911 was a Colt assigned to me for training years ago by a benevolent U. S. Army. It was the proverbial "love at first shot."

And speaking of tweaking a Colt, here is one example of a "Plain Jane" Colt Government model for which I first installed Sambar Stag grips and then the results after I had decided to let Clark Custom Guns and APW take it all the way:

I am lucky to have this place close by, it's in Winchester, TN (I'm located just south of Nashville, but it's worth the drive.)

They build custom 1911's from scratch, all parts are strictly made in America) They have a dedicate 1911 gunsmith on staff and if you can imagine it, they can build it. I've got serial #12 (S/N's 1 through 10 were reserved for the staff only)

Check 'em out: http://hero-gear.com/blog/?p=88

Their 1911 gunsmith is also a huge Rohrbaugh fan. Here are some shots of the one I had them make:
