Flawless Shooting
« on: June 07, 2006, 02:48:46 AM »
I am new to the forum. I have read with concern all of the submissions regarding the FTF, FTE, lube no lube etc.
I am happy to report that today I fired 90 rounds in my R9 without any malfunction. I fired all of the varieties my gun range had available, Speer Gold Dots 115, Federal Premium Hydra-shok 124, and Winchester 115 FMJ. I wanted to give my R9 every opportunity to stumble, and it did not!

Way to go, dkg31442.  My experience with the R9 was also perfect with a variety of ammo.

I made the mistake of carrying for five months without cleaning, and it did fail once with each of three magazine loads.

I've learned to clean more often.

Glad you are enjoying your pistol.

Bill

dkg31442 :

Welcome to the Forum, and thanks for the range report.  Your experience mirrors that of a lot of us who have had no problems with our R9s.

Was it a new r9 or a used one?  I have read of refurbished ones having trouble.

My R9s was purchased new, and is a joy to shoot. I recently received my Hedley Backpocket Holster and it makes the experience complete!

My pistol seems to have an appetite for almost any 9mm I try, and without a belch in sight.

Great to hear.  You will find when carrying, you will forget your carrying.  It is a great confort to know that you can have it on you without anyone else knowing it.

With a flawless Rohrbaugh wrapped in a classic Hedley, you're ready and able to walk through that proverbial valley of the shadows not only without fear of evil but also with enviable style!   8)

Richard, ditto that for sure. Thats what the gun was designed to do. Too bad RJ's holster is in deep cover.
