The HUDY works great. I would not remove or tighten the grips without it.

Congratulations.

But, Jack, I respectfully suggest that instant gratification may be highly overrated.  Instant gratification might be compared to throwing back a slug of Tennessee "moonshine" from a Mason jar.  On the other hand, gratification preceded by an appropriate time of anticipation might be compared to sipping three fingers of single-malt Scotch served neat in a crystal glass.   ;)

I would submit there is a time and place for both. ;)

I have also Blue and Black CF OEM grips and VZ blue and black CF grips.

I have been busy and have not had the opportunity to swap the grips around.

I also ordered brown hyena checkered VZ grips. I am not sure what will look best with this color frame.

Congratulations Adam!

The pre-R silver framed R9's are most likely the rarest of the rare.  And in my view the best looking.  My 141 has the "plum" frame.

Thank you Chris.

143 has a plum frame as well. It's hard to tell from the pic.

The silver frame Farmingdale happens to be my favorite though.

Thanks,  and I can see where they would come in handy.

I would not use a allen wrench from a set anymore after using a HUDY.

If you use a Hudy Driver and Johns screws and O-rings you will eliminate loose grip screws and striped screws.

That's a beautiful photograph.

Here's one of a place near Critter Creek just after a rain storm up on the mountain.  This photo was taken late last month, just before the first incursion by that so-called Polar Vortex.  No plinking here, though.  It's just inside the boundary of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
