My Keltec 380 broke and I sent it to the factory but I have lost confidence in it. I bought a Rohrbaugh last Saturday and took it to the range today. I shot a string of 5 from generic ball ammo without a bobble. Switched to Gold Dot 115 gr. HP and shot 5 more without a hitch. It's my new carry gun. It will be shot little but I have total faith it will go bang when I need it.

Funny how that works. I shot 600 rounds in my P3AT before I would carry it but only shot 24 rounds thru my R9s before making it a pocket carry piece. 8)

The quality of the R9S is apparent so no need to fire it a lot. I never could be sure of the KelTec. It's quite a shock to go to the range, pull your carry piece from your pocket only to discover you've been carrying a broken gun for protection. Yikes!

Tom, I bought my R9S from you. On 1/1/96 I proudly got my new Galco Fanny pack out, straped it on, I inserted my Colt LW Officers, zipped it up and headed to Albertson's to try out my new right. About 5 rows in a guy shouted, "Are you packin?" In frustration I went home and abandoned my fanny pack and I've never worn it again. Dallas folks will remember the Dallas Marxist News had a front page story re the right to carry law and the politicians said "there will be blood in the streets" and "It's a return to the old west".

Tom, it was the first day of carry in TX so I think the paper writing about it is want caused him to out me.

I am with you. I would much prefer to strap a gun on my waist than deal with all this conceiled carry stuff. There are some states where open carry is not prohibited but usually the cities have their own rules.

Thanks, Mike, for pointing that out about the open carry twist.
The forum member from Georgia who said that his restaurant
owner had an open carry day celebration after the Supreme
Court decision piqued my interest in this issue. A friend of
mine from Harlan County, Kentucky said that open carry there
during the 50s was the accepted norm. He told me that he
was carrying a .38 special when he was 16 and the local
Sheriff asked him why he was carrying that gun; he told him
that it was for self-defense. The Sheriff informed him that he
would only irritate someone with that and that he should
carry a man's caliber of .45 if he were really serious; different
time, different place.

I have a friend who rode the NYC subways when he was a kid with a friend to go camping in the White Plains area. both carried their .22lr rifles with them, no problem. Tom

Just got back from the range. 100 flawless rds of winchester white box. What a great gun :)
