Love my Stealth. Would love it more if it was totally blacked out. Any chance we'll see an R9 Midnight version anytime soon?
-
Rumor has it there is an new all black model in the works called CI, Covert Invisible.
-
please let that be true! i want a CI...
hey irishguard tom, if you hear that the CI model is actually being produced, please drop me a line. ;D
-
If you already have a Stealth, it may be less expensive to have it refinished as opposed to buying a new one.
Wilson Combat - Armor Tuff
AP&W - Black Chrome
It's just a thought.

good info wolverine, but haven't got mine yet, so if the CI is available when i'm ready, i would prefer it to the Stealth. sweet!
-
I would do the same.

It's not about the money. I could never part with my Stealth so the Midnight or Covert Invisible would be a sibling.
Since I started this thread I've been hearing the siren song of this bad boy. Would love to order a custom with a naked slide. Totally different animal I know, but dang, black is sexy.

You guys can have my share of the all black pistols, they don't float my boat. ;D
-
I do like 'em shiny as well; something about stainless or chrome. :D
-
I have two chrome R9s. I like the all silver look. I did not like the two tone.
I just puchased another R9 and may go all black with this one. Who knows I cannot make up my mind. :D
To each their own.
-
agreed: all silver or all black. never much cared for two-tone...
-
If a all black one is wanted get a 2 tone and then send it Bill Wilson. Tom
-
na, we want a "karl" version, direct from the factory. :P
and now that they're making black mags, that pretty much only leaves the barrel and mag release, doesn't it?
.
-
trigger and guide rod are still silver!
-
Also the hammer, ejector, and extractor. Still quite a bit of white on the gun. After seeing the price of the Covert, I think I'm going to wish for something else.
-
The price is fairly steep; but all in what you want.
-
If you buy a factory all black Rohrbaugh, it does not feature frame checkering.
AP&W does an awesome job on frame checkering. It helps with my grip and shot. I can pick the finish of my choice after it has been checkered. It's just my opinion.
-
I do like that part of their work. Decisions, decisions.........! :)

photos, photos, photos.... (and rough idea of the prices, please)
-
AP&W - checkering front & back strap (40LPI). Chrome plating the entire pistol and two magazines. This was on a R9
I think i paid in the area of $530.00 with return shipping.
-
Traction grips Universal set that I custom cut to cover front strap, back strap, and mag extension hook. $4.99 and I still have 3/4 of the kit left over for other projects. AND it's BLACK. http://www.tractiongrips.com/catalog/c6_p1.html
;D ;D ;D

I forgot to say, this one is ported as well. I think the porting was about $100.00.
-
To each his own on the porting of the R9! :)
-
I don't have an opinion yet. I have not shot it since it was ported.
AP&W highly recommends it.
-
I just like the way the R9 shoots now, without the porting.
-
I don't have any complaints.
I need to get to the range with all the R9s.
I cannot wait to shoot the Farmie!
-
You will be pleased, I'm sure!
-
love the finish, checkering and look. :P
-
Black is ok for me. I prefer contrast. I like two tones.
Or
Black gun with Ivory grips.
Silver gun with Buffalo grips.
That way, Everything stands out and shines in their own right.
Don't get me wrong, I have plenty of black guns.
