Uberti 1870 Cattleman

I purchased this Uberti 1870 Cattleman the other week. It is chambered in .357, and it looks well made. The problem is, I really don't know a whole heck of a lot about this manufacturer and I was reading on one forum that magnum rounds should not be used because this is only a replica. Now this could be true, I don't know. I did buy this used, it was never shot, but no owners manual accompanied the gun, just the box.
I was hoping some of you here know the real scoop on these replicas.
I would appreciate any information that you could give me pertaining to the magnum loadings or the pistol itself.

Chameleon.  I have a friend that goes shooting with me and he has a Uberti .357 1873.  I have shot it with the .357 mags with no problem.  He reloads his own and has never mentioned any difficulties.

Just for more information, there's a Uberti 1873 Cattleman on GunsAmerica that in the description says it fires the .357 magnum round.  That's not new info, I know, however, it does state it uses that ammo.

Chamaleon - I have and have hade many ubertis over the past.  I am also very active in Cowboy Action Shooting and am very exposed to these guns.

Trust me, there is no problem shooting whatever you want in these guns.

They are not the tanks that Ruger Vaqueros or Blackhawks are, where you can shoot max loads all day forever.   But you can still have fun with it.

I guess I could have just bought a Ruger, but last week I wasn't even looking for a SA Cowboy revolver, and my friend was selling one, so that is that.

Hey it is nothing to apologize for.  It is a good, "Colt clone".
 
Get a good rig from Kilpatric leather or Knight's leather works, or Mernicle leather which will work great and look great too as well as last a lifetime.

I actually found the owners manual (?) in the box. I question manual because t was just a folded brochure looking thing, not the typical booklet I would have expected.

Here is a picture of the Cattleman and the Holster.

Maybe a new belt is in my future.

Thank you guys.
As I said, I bought this from a friend, and I remember him agonizing over which pistol, which caliber and then which holster. Once he decided, I really liked what I saw.
The whole package is as new.

I truly can't wait to shoot it.
