Title: G43
Post by: backupr9 on November 09, 2018, 03:10:02 PM
I shot one at the range the other day...I’ve never been a Glock fan, but I really did like that pistol!  It was smooth, accurate, fast back on the target with rapid fire.  It’s not heavy, but just feels BIG compared to the R9.  I think I’ll buy one.

The G43 is now my everyday carry. Trigger mod, Talon grip tape, and boom every time.

Norm

This surprises me.

Some how a Glock 43 just doesn't seem to fit  "Your Style".   ;)

I bought it because it came so highly recommended from members of this forum. I also wanted a gun that I did not have to worry about...on the boat, at the beach, riding my bike, etc. Nice gun to shoot, but boring as hell to look at. It's nice to own a gun I don't have to worry about it getting scratched up. I enjoy carrying my Dan Wesson ECO in 9mm. An incredible gun for the $$! I sold my Sig p365. It was an early model & problematic. When it functioned properly, it was a beauty to shoot. I loved the 12+1 capacity of it. So, I bought another one 2 days ago. I'm told the newer ones do not have the problems of the earlier ones. We will see real soon.

I told myself that I was not going to buy any more small 9mm but that P365 is tempting as hell.

Everybody I talk to that has them loves them.

Yeah, I popped for one today.  It's your fault.

I’ve got a 43 and a 365.  I use the 43 for farm carry, the 365 for city carry, and the Rohrbaugh for more discreet situations. The 43 shoots like a Glock, very robust, the 365 punches way above it’s weight class, and my Rohrbaugh has no comparison.

Very well stated, Griff.

The Sig P365 sounds interesting as well...I have not shot one...How do they compare in shooting, handling, recoil, maintenance, etc.with the G43?  Norm?  Griff?

1.) Shooting: More accurate, especially at a longer distance.
2.) Handling: Carries and fits like a glove...you forget you have it on.
3.) Maintenance: Only put 50 thru it...flawlessly.
4.) Recoil: Less, more stable.

Thanks!  Guess I’ll shoot one and then decide.

Picked up my P365 today and gave it a quick look over.

I like the stippling on the front strap, back strap, and grips.  With the night sights it seems to be a real bargain price wise.

Compared it to my Solo which is my normal carry and they are nearly identical in size even thought the 365 appears much larger.

The Solo even with its alloy frame is still a full ounce lighter which is surprising.

I am looking forward to shooting the Sig.

By the way, I see Kimber is bringing out a new striker fired pistol to replace the Solo.

Sorry sir, I just saw this.
The Sig has a really, really great trigger, comes with night sights, has a grippier texture, easier to take down, AND IT HOLDS 13 ROUNDS with the extended magazine. Sorry for screaming🤓
The Glock is proven. It’s a Glock!

Thank you all. Guess I will have to evaluate the Sig.

If you can wait a bit, the new G43X will probably make it's first public appearance at the SHOT show.  That is a 10 round, double stack version.  Probably be able to get a magazine extension if you want bringing it up to or close to the SIG.

It would be interesting if they included standard night sights on the G43x.  It would make it clear who they're trying to compete with.

The guys over the TFB did a video on the new Glocks.

They cover the 43X and the 48.

Looking forward to shooting the new Glocks at the SHOT Show in a few weeks.

If you get a chance, I would be interested in your thoughts on the new Mossberg MC1 budget friendly small 9mm.  Hopefully you will have the time to shoot it and give us your impressions of it.
