Last Snow of Winter at Critter Creek Cabin
« on: March 12, 2008, 11:31:30 AM »
Here's hoping that this was the last snow of winter at Critter Creek Cabin in the Great Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee:

Oh, and Jesse, the key to the cabin is under a rock down in the creek.   ;)

And by the way, that's a woodshed in the foreground, not an outhouse.   8)

Thank you, Brenden! I think of you up there in the "frozen northland" every time the Weather Channel reports another Canadian Clipper coming across the border.   8)

You’ve got a piece of heaven there. A real picture post card.

Richard,

As always you make Critter Creek look like a wonderful place to be.

Richard,

You need another sign:  "Do not look under this rock"

Captain:

Good idea. I should also probably add some small print warning about the resident Chelydra serpentina (a.k.a., Northern snapping turtle). He should be coming out of hibernation soon -- all 20+ pounds of him. Ducks and waders beware! He'll be hungry at first.   ;)

Richard, Is that 5 feet deep. With all this rain it might be 10 by now.  Hope all is well. Dan

Dan:

The Great Smoky Mountains were on the south side of that storm system, so we missed the heavier rains. Still and all, the streams are running full around here.

We're off to the cabin early in the morning for the weekend . . . Easter in a little corner of the world which the Lord has richly blessed.
