Title: yahoo
Post by: Rocnerd on September 28, 2005, 11:23:13 PM
Anyone else notice that now when typing in Rohrbaugh in yahoo the first response is this site and second is the Rohrbaugh official site.  It was the other way around not too long ago.  I was wondering if that has something to do with more traffic over here than over there.

Just a random observation.

Rocnerd,

I thought the answer would be easy, but it was not!

Here is the best I could do.

Rocnerd,

The most popular search engine is Google.

If you have a chance, please consider testing with Google to see if it meets your requirements.

Of course, as usual, Microsoft is  trying very hard, but for now Google is the king.

Yahoo, Google, its all the same to me.  I was just wondering out loud, on screen, why this site has moved into top position at Yahoo is all.  Thought maybe it was indicative of this site becoming more popular and having more traffic than any other site having to do with this most magnificent pocket pistol.  Again, just a random observation.  Thanks.

Rocnerd,

There's something about their search techniques I don't understand fully.

I noticed that Google put the Rohrbaugh factory first, and then the forum.  It was just the opposite of Yahoo.

Yep -- that is interesting.  Something to do with their protocols.

Traffic is probably one factor.  Another is the number of times "Rohrbaugh" appears on the site.  Our forum is growing so large that we probably get more points in that category too.  I know that Tech Guy has done what he could to increase our visibility and priority to search engines.
