R9 New Rohrbagh R9 Magazines
« on: June 02, 2016, 06:21:18 PM »
Apparently the last post was read over 60 days ago so a new post was suggested by the Form on this subject.
The original magazine supplier to Rohrbagh is still in business selling magazines at $50 each shipped to my FL UPS 11.50 Good bargain for all interested. Individuals selling on Gun Broker and other sites seen today at $80 - $100 + each + shipping some to FFL dealers(?) not a good deal at all. Their info to order on their website follows:

If they dont have any then call Williams and im sure they have some. I dont remember who had what but between the two, I recall that there were plenty left.

Williams will only return a mag that is defective for a new one...no more sales.

That is 100% correct.I spoke with them a few days ago and they said "we have a handful left" BUT they are not for sale. Exchange of defective mags only.

Checkmate has 100 tubes, bodies, but are waiting for springs and followers. They SAID they will ship when it all comes together.

They have NONE available at this time. You must preorder on line, no callsl. All I really need is springs. If ANYONE can get me a solid lead on where I can get springs PLEASE let me know I will pay you $100 finders fee. I will take up to 10.

Have you tried Wolff Gunsprings?

My Gunsmith used to email a picture of springs along with dimensions,(OD, Wire diameter, length, number of coils, etc.) and they would send him a spring or springs that nearly always worked.

It's worth a try.

Walter Wolff made all of the springs in our R9 pistols. Ask Wolff if they have any around to the Rohrbaugh specs. Nice people there.

Tried to browse to www.checkmatemagazines.com via my Frontier home internet service.
Resulted in "403: Access Forbidden, Your location (CA) has been blacklisted."  Odd given
that I live in Texas.

Tried with different browsers on different computers and tablets, same result.  Tried with
smartphone with WiFi turned off.  That worked, probably due to taking a different route
through the Internet.

I think Checkmate needs to fix their web server.  Pretty heavy handed to blacklist folks, even
if they really do live in a location with which they can't do business.  If a denied state, that
should come up when trying to add to cart or checkout, not simply trying to visit the web site.

Anyhow, got through via cellular IP network.  They are taking pre-orders for the 380 and 9mm
magazines.  All in silver stainless.  They now want $75 US instead of the $50 previously
stated.  I already have nine magazines to service my three pups, so am on the fence.

Cheers

Welcome to the forum Creature. You don't need to be on the fence. . . . . With three magazines for each R9, you have enough magazine to tackle the job for life. More than what you have, seriously, is not necessary.  Just saying.........

Hope you enjoy your stay here on the forum. Great chaps here. . . . . Willing to help. Me included. lol

See you around the boards.

Hi Eric,

Thanks for welcoming me to the board.  Also, thank you for
offering the owner's manual and lubrication chart sets.

Similarly, a thank you to all who have generously shared their
wisdom on this board.  This board continues to prove to be
an indispensable resource.

Well, I have a weakness for shiny things, so ordered four.

The $75 seems fair and quite a bit better than we've been
seeing elsewhere, GunBroker for example.  That and the
confidence inspired by purchasing directly from the original
manufacturer.

The Check Mate Industries web site does have a graphic
indicating that the Rohrbaugh pre-orders are for a "final run".
So, might be a good time to assess whether you have what
you need (or want).

Hmmm. . . . . Sounds like the last run of magazines coming from the original supplier. May have to rethink this event guys.
