Balky Trigger Reset
« on: November 17, 2007, 06:07:21 PM »
I just picked up a used R9.  I have not taken it to the range as yet, but I have noted on dry fire that the trigger does not consistently reset.  Is this a spring or cleaning issue or should I expect this problem not to occur with the recoil of live fire?

VI-Shooter:

My first guess would be that it needs a good cleaning and lubrication.

Congratulations on the acquisition, and welcome to the Forum.

Hi Brad, and welcome.
Have you removed the right hand grip? The trigger linkage is underneath, and sometimes balks when the grip screw nearest the trigger is loose. Please note before proceeding that There are many threads in this forum discussing the proper removal, locktiting and reinstallation of these screws and maintenance of the trigger linkage. Itis time well spent to read as many of these as you can to familiarize yourself with this issue.
