New R9s
« on: September 02, 2006, 11:40:50 PM »
Hello All,

My first post! I have a new R9s coming that should be here by Wednesday (hopefully). I am very excited!!! I have read pages and pages on the forum already so, I won't ask how to take care of my new little gem. I currently carry a Stainless Kimber Ultra Carry, but was looking for a deep concealment pistol with more punch than my NAA GUardian in .32 acp. The R9s seems PERFECT! Well, I am looking forward to being part of this board, and being a Rohrbaugh owner. I will post a range report and pictures as soon as possible!

Take care, Mike Arnold

Mike - welcome to the forum and the ''Pup Club" :)

Hope to hear some feedback from you later once you have it.

Not blowing my own trumpet but - if you haven't already - go peek at my FAQ site - link in my sig line.  Might be odd things there of interest.

Just wanting you to be right up to speed once you have the lil' fella!

Welcome Mike - let us know how you like the pup when you get it in your hands.

Research the ammo you are going to use.  Have it ready.  Try it out.  Let us know.

Welcome.

Well,  I finally picked my pistol up Friday night. Took it to the range today.  I shot 50 rounds of Radway 95 gr. JSP, and 15 rds. of Winchester  115 grain JHP. It ran perfectly!!!! Very, very accurate. I was getting ready to shoot it and kind of grit my teeth together expecting some wicked recoil on my first shot. It never happened! The recoil was very controllable. In fact it had about the same recoil as my fathers P3at. I followed all the advice I have been reading on the forum. My dad and I shot 3 magazines through it and let it cool.  I took it apart when I got home and cleaned it, then Super Lubed it. I am extremely pleased with this gun and I know I will get many years of great service from this little gem!!

Take care, MIke Arnold

Mike - did I say welcome yet?  probably not - welcome! :)

Glad your first outing was good - and yeah - recoil if compared with P3AT is a breeze really, tho I have say, despite being a hand cannon fan and slight recoil junky - the R9 is still (along with P3) not something I'd choose to shoot all day recreationally ;D

Dang - I did say welcome already! DUH!  Well there goes my cred' and proof of ongoing senility!  ::) :P :D

Thanks again guys for all the Welcomes!  R9SCarry, I wouldn't want to shoot alot of rounds either......but from all the posts about the recoil, I was expecting more. Irishguard, It is great, I was really hoping I wasn't going to experience any of the issues I had read about here. I am just sooo happy I can carry a pistol chambered in 9mm in my pocket. Rohrbaugh has done real, real good with this one!

Take care, Mike Arnold
