Title: Boberg on GB
Post by: MRC on October 20, 2011, 12:02:57 PM
They have broke the reserve with 2.5 days to go.  Nice profit for someone.

I like the idea of the design-almost a bullpup handgun, and that has a cool factor, but why build it to shoot + ammo?

WOW!  Nice profit, indeed!    :)

Some people either have more money than brains or don't know what they sell for. I understand and have paid a few dollars more for something rather than wait but $500 more is just not a good investment for an in production gun.
And it looked like there is 3 days and 9 hours left on the auction at the time of this post.
The +P is apparently attractive to some. :D

I agree with you John, 50% over list is a bit too much for me.

I like the idea of +P capability.  It really isn't that much more and you do not have to use them all the time.  We all have .357's and shoot 38's.

The +P capability is ok but at 6 or 7 feet from a 3 to 4" barrel, I think the standard pressure round will do the job as well. :D

At that distance you will get no argument from me.

If someone had paid $500 more than msrp for a under 50 serial number early colt revolver, when they first came out, I think they would have made a pretty fair investment.  I'm just saying.........

And on the why build it for +p,  I say why not?

I have nothing against +P ammo but for SD distances it's not going to make much difference.

Although I wish him the best, I would venture to guess that Arnie Boberg will not achieve Samual Colt status.

Many have tried few have made it. :o
Sam Colt and John Browning are in a league that is virtually unattainable in this day and age.

The Boberg brought $2k on GB last night.  That was as hot of bidding as I have seen in a long time.

Good luck to the buyer!

....and who said the economy is bad.  I'll wait for my number to get called and save a grand.
