Title: Para Ordnance C 6
Post by: kerrynp5 on January 20, 2005, 03:02:52 PM
Excellent concealment, 6 +1 45acp, excellent trigger, and it even fits in my front pants pocket (of course I'm as big as a Coke machine).

... the C6 is also VERY picky with regards to what you feed it. Mine will only digest FMJ and Cor-Bon ammo. Everything else either jams or won't even chamber properly.

I have the P12-45 .... it too is picky, putting it mildly.  I have yet to fit uprated Wolff springs to mag's ... hoping that will help.  Pity, because it has a sweet trigger and is accurate.  Para really does carry a far from good rep IMO.

If it were reliable it would join my carry choices.  Not yet tho!

I have a P12-45 as well and it's not real picky at all. I had troubles with it early but I've made a lot of mods which have all helped wonderfully. I upgraded mag and recoil springs with Wolff, polished the ramp to a mirror-like shine, and it has responded. In my last 500 rounds it hasn't had one hiccup. I really like this .45 in such a small package, especially with 12 rounds.

FB .... that encourages me no end!  So - what # rating recoil spring?  I tried a while back to get organized with mag springs but found the Wolff site less than co-operative - gave up.  I really should try again.  Any info on your spring choices would be most welcome.

I just checked to be certain, I ordered their 'calibration pack' from Wolff with 18.5#, 20#, 24# springs, ran them all and the 24# is what I found to be the best. I believe the stock spring is the 22#. The mag springs are the Wolff +10%.

BTW - I also tried a Sprinco recoil reducer and it failed miserably, I couldn't get through more than 4 or 5 rounds without a failure. And it didn't seem to do anything even close to reducing recoil or flip. Recoil doesn't bother me but I was curious as I had never used one before so I thought 'what the hell, why not try it on this little gun?' - MISTAKE to the tune of $70.00! In the end, the 24# spring seemed to help much, much more. I really like this gun!

Try this link directly to Wolff's Para-Ord springs selection:

Wow!  I'm glad I waited for the Warthog.  Out of the box it's reliable, accurate and a pleasure to shoot and carry, and I've been carrying one form or another of a 1911 since 1961.  Maybe Para learned how to do it right from the C6?

I used to own a Parry Carry (C6.LDA) and a Para Carry 12 (C12.LDA).  I found them to both be extremely unreliable with just about any ammo.

>>Hi TwoStar...

I've liked the looks of the Warthog from day one, but have heard it too is a fussy eater.  What has been your experience on this...?  Any other thoughts to share on this weapon...TW/Son of a TwoStar<<
