First, you must not have a firearm of a specific caliber.
Go to the store and buy several boxes of ammunition of the new caliber.
Wait several days, and you will recognize that something is wrong. There is a very mysterious feeling you have to experience to believe.
You are fully justified in resolving the problem. This technique works!
I bought some .223 Remington a few months ago, and now have a Bushmaster AR-15.
If you have the slightest doubt about my technique, try it at least once. You will be happy you did.

Bill:
You may be on to something here. I purchased a box of .357 Magnum ammo recently even though I don't currently own a firearm chambered for the caliber. I have no idea why I did such a thing. However, I find myself lately being drawn repeatedly to the following site:

Lord help me! ;D

A good approach if you need rationalization and
rationalization is more important than sex. When
is the last time any of you went a week without
rationalizing something?
I usually just buy the gun and don't feel one ounce
of guilt.

Tracker,
I like the way you think!

Richard, you need that rifle!
tracker, I just ordered an EOTech scope without coming up with a gimmick. Like you, sometimes you just have to do it, and not feel guilty.

My wife's stock retort is that I don't need
another gun. I tell her that need has nothing
to do with it.
-
Bill,
Let us know how you like the EO Tech scope.

I sure will, tracker.
It was a hard choice choosing between the eotech and aimpoint.
