Title: Colt
Post by: Newt on March 27, 2006, 10:55:27 PM
I just scored a Combat Commander in 9mm nickel. In Maryland, behind the lines, I have to wait 7 bus. days before I can take possesion. Anyone have any experiance          a 9mm 1911 platform?

Newt:

Congratulations!  You've got a real gem there.  I don't own one, but I wish I did.

You've probably seen this link, but if not it contains some interesting information:

Newt:

One other thought about the nickel plating . . . I always avoid using Hoppe's No. 9 solvent on my nickel-plated guns.  Hoppe's No. 9 is a great product, especially for removing lead and copper deposits from the barrel of a gun, but it can be "unkind" to a nickel finish.

Thanks for that warning cause I use alot of #9. I'll try and post a range report once I get my hands on it.
