I am interested in getting a Model 41. Prices seem to be going up regularly and I just might as well bite the bullet.
I will probably buy new since finding and older one locally is probably slim to none.
What are your opinions on the 41? I was thinking of getting the 7" barrel at first and seeing how that works for me.
Thanks for the input.

Probably one of the finest and most accurate .22lr pistols ever made......you'll be more than happy with one, IMO. :)

Jack, they are great shooting .22s, you might look at the 5" heavy bbl. Tom

Does anyone have a contact that can get me a S&W 41 with 7" for a great price?
Thanks

That is a very nice one and currently a fair price.
I think I'm going to get a new current production 7". Decreased my chances of having problems I feel.
Thanks

I was going to buy 41 about 15 yrs ago until a guy at the range let me shoot his High Standard Victor and his 41 side by side.
Not only did the Victor win out, but when the fella told me about the little spring that likes to fly away when you remove the grips.......well that sealed the deal for me.
I went out on a quest and was fortunate enough to find a NIB Victor and have not looked back since.
I'm sure that you will not be disappointed with a 41, especially since you have the bug, but if you want the best...
Good Luck

a gunsmith friend of mine found a small supply of those grip springs. $8 a piece is what he had to pay for them! but at least he has some.

$8 for an itty bitty spring is outrageous! But if I owned a model 41 I would buy 6 of them at the first place that even had them.
