Anyone have/try this one as yet??

Looks interesting,here is one of the reviews that I have read;

Looks to be yet another choice for us concealable 9mm peoples!!

I have seen this in ads, but not tried it.  Another choice, indeed!

Never having been a Taurus advocate, this 709 Slim with a 5 lb. trigger pull and a TCP 738 in .380 with a 4.5 lb. pull out of the box and made in Miami are both interesting.

 Taurus is actually Brazilian. You may be thinking of KelTec which are made in Miami.

They do have a plant in Miami

"The next milestone for Taurus came in 1982. This is when the Brazil management decided to "take the bull by the horns" by opening an affiliated company, Taurus, in Miami, Florida."

Thank you, Corey; they are only producing the TCP series, .9mm and .380, in Miami--the rest in Brazil.

It is good to know that Taurus has a plant in the US.

One interesting thing about the 809 B series .9mm is that it has a "strike two" capability which means that it reverts to double action pull if a light strike occurs in S/A mode, ensuring a heavier re-strike if necessary. This model is probably made in Brazil.

That is interesting.  I like that idea!

American Rifleman did a write up on the "slim" and gave it a good reveiw - not a rave reveiw but good.
