Today I took a friend from work down to a local gunshop and helped him buy his first gun. After the waiting period expires, I am going to take him to shoot it, then do a detailed strip and clean it up for him. Also helped him pick out proper defensive ammo and a lock box.
Always feels good to help someone else exercise (responsibly) their Second Amendment rights! ;D
For those interested, I steered him to a store with a few S&W Model 65 police trade-ins in nice condition with the original grips and a 3" tube. The dealer was firm at $289. I told my firend that this gun would always be worth $300 and if he ever decided to sell it, I would buy it for that amount.

Way to go, Duane!

Good job, Duane.
I wish I had known someone like you long time ago when I started shooting.
My ears would have had something in them for protection.
They have been ringing ever since.
I didn't believe in eye protection, but recently got hit in the head many times from rounds coming out of a P3AT. No doubt there was some limp wristing going on.
Fortunately, I have glasses and even bought ear/eye protection for my sons-in-law.
I'm taking them out Labor Day to try out a new AR-15 with EOTech scope.
Naturally, they will need to shoot the R9S.
