>>I am shipping off a gun back to the factory and would like to include a sample of it's preferred ammo. Does anyone know for sure one way or another if it is legal to ship a box of ammo in the same package as a gun (gun obviously unloaded)...?
Thanks in advance for your shared knowledge, and have an AWESOME day...!...TW<<

TW:
Shipping ammunition is a real pain. This site may be helpful:

Hey TW - not come up against this but - guessing - probably a no-no to send both together.
I would thusly consider, despite the hassle - sending two separate packages. :)

I would not send ammo with gun! I would put a note with gun describing specifications & brand of prefered ammo and request they test with it. ;)

TW, don't do that. I don't know how you are shipping -- presumably Fed Ex or similar company... that will clearly violate their policies and may violate federal law.
If you want to send it, send it separately. Even then, there may be restrictions on mailing ammo. Call the factory in question and ask -- they may have that ammo on hand and can certainly advise you as to the legal issues.
