The cover of this month's Concealed Carry Magazine (http://www.concealedcarrymag.com) should be near and dear to many of us...
All of you will notice that the subject is wearing a Rohrbaugh R-9 with original blue grips. The more observant may notice that it is in a K&D Holsters Belt Defender. Then, at least one of you will note that the "subject" is the step-daughter of our own R9SCarry!
Nice job, Chris. Great photo! ;D
My article didn't make the cover this time -- a review of Randy Cain's Tactical Handgun 101. ;)
-
Very nice cover for the magazine. Great job, Chris.
I know you must be very proud.

Great photograph, Chris! Congratulations! I know you are very proud of her.
And thanks to you, Duane, for posting the photo. It prompts me to do what I had long intended to do anyway -- subscribe to the magazine.
-
What a great photo and a good reason to subscribe. Good job Chris... Tom
-
Very nice job done by all.. :)

For those who get the mag, I have an article with a review of Randy Cain's Tactical Handgun 101 class on page 23.
I will post it here in a separate thread as soon as I have permission.

>>Nice...nice...TW<<

Duane - thx for posting that - I just might have done so myself otherwise. Having already done such on THR and Combat Carry!!
Yes I am rather proud - mostly for my step-daughter, who I guess predictably hates the pic LOL :D
Let me add this bit I had on THR post as info - anyone wishing to subscribe to mag or USCCA (US Concealed Carry Association) can use these links or phone. USCCA is quite new but I'd like to see it grow.
[size=13]Tim also has a while ago started the United States Concealed Carry Association - something I want to see grow and become another force to be reckoned with. Give this your support if you can and also if you haven't subscribed to the magazine - do consider it. RKBA needs all the help it can get.

Congrat to Chris, his stepdaughter, and Duane - I'll be sure to get the mag.
Chris how has your stepdaughter and her friends reacted to her being on a cover of a gun mag. Did it bring any feedback from her school - if they know? She looks like a born model and you a professional photographer.
Haven't gotten my internet cable problem fixed yet so better log off before I loose the connection.
-
You definitely should, MountainMain!
Chris -- I am uncharacteristically way behind in my internet reading. Can you point me to the thread on THR?

Here's the link Duane

Dave - no reaction as yet - but she is at college and has a quite small circle of friends - added to which being a subscription only mag right now - odds very much against anyone she knows seeing it.
That will please her, as she hates the pic - everyone else loves it. ;D
She thought of modelling but is too short it seems. As for me - not a pro but was for many years (back in them thar ol' ''film'' days LOL) - doing freelance stuff - had own darkroom and all the gear.
These days - all digital which gives me greater scope - most work tho is just for my own pleasure, tho I will always take on assignments if they crop up.

Okay, let's see what this USCCA is all about. I just ordered the mag.
-
I received my USCCA membership card in today's mail and am looking forward to receiving my first copy of Concealed Carry Magazine in about a week. Thanks for the prompt, Duane.
-
Good on ya Richard. I am pleased to see Tim Schmidt get support for the mag and USCCA - I hope they will both grow and flourish. :)

>>How come I never got a membership card...? Humph...!...TW<<
-
TW:
You may have subscribed to Concealed Carry Magazine without joining the USCCA. A one-year subscription without membership is $32.00. A one-year membership is $40.00 and includes the magazine.

Very nice! The pistol and holster aren't bad, either!

I see that Chris's step-daughter is now on page 94 of NRA's American Rifleman magazine. Now that is the big time.
-
Congrats Chris, what a great picture and a beauiful lady.
Tom
-
Shucks - first I knew about it until Kevin (K&D) mentioned this!
Unfortunately I only get First Freedom mag and not American Rifleman - have to see who has a copy now :)

being a newbie, albiet at 70 yrs of age,i find amussing,i must add my 2cents worth,on CCM,it is great publication and one is rather suprised at the honest opinions by writers on what is good and bad,the people bend over backwards to help, and in my case sent me a back issue vol 2 2005 on holsters, what is good, bad and places to contact the suppliers, trouble is i am an avid reader and have gone over back issues so much, that i am afraid the words will fall off the pages,oh yes,i just recieved mine and when gold dot 124 comes in will take out in the woods to try.
-
Seeker - welcome to you Sir :)
So - you have your own ''pup'' I take it - excellent, and hope it is obedient ;)
Yes CCM is filling a great niche IMO - and I continue to wish Tim sustained success with it. In fact a good many contributors are in sense cyber friends of many of us.
-
seeker,
I would like to welcome you to the forum. I've learned plenty because of my visits here.
Hope you will return many times!
Bill
-
seeker,
A big welcome!! :)
Have fun with the pup!!
Brenden
-
Seeker - thanks for the input - I'm thinking of getting the CCM magazine subscription also and was wondering if you could get back issues - welcome to the forum!
Dave

I received my first issue last week. Looks like an interesting publication, and a worthwhile organization.

I thank all for the welcome,i have a Fla.,CC permit, doesn't do alot of good in northern Wisc.,but hope springs eternal, after our head of state vetoed my right of self defense, the bill is being reintroduced this yr.,as to concealed carry magazine i highly recommend vol 2 issues 1&4 it speaks to the issue of holsters, differant styles features quite a few,and the one issue features the differant kinds and a rating system of what activities they are good for,for the average person it not only saves a lot of time, money and agravation, but has referance scources, the only short coming in the articles i find is the lack of mentioning the "smart carry" system which is one of the best all around one.as a result of the magazine i have ordered various styles for my guns,to cover a lot of activities
