Title: R9  The 24/7 BUG
Post by: aircop_m on March 02, 2006, 04:00:47 PM
I've had my R9 for well over a year now, fired hundreds of rounds through it,with no malfuntions. I've carry it constantly 24/7 as a backup since I first shot it.  Last week, while I was on vacation, I went to my sisters' house, for a few hours for dinner. I decided, since I was only going over to her house, I'd leave my R9 at home, and just carry my P228. I couldn't believe how much I missed that thing!!!!! I felt like I'd left my child behind in a busy shopping mall parking lot:o  I guess I won't let that happen again ::)

That's a fine story.  I think many of us feel exactly the same way.

Aircop

Nice you have had such success with your R9 with worry free operation.

Have you changed the spring yet?  Curious since some have had a few problems after changing to a new spring until it works in.

MountainMan,
Yes, I changed the spring every 250 rounds, or so. I have not had any problems after changing them though. Have you had such a problem?

Well I admit mine is not a permanent BUG but then being home based so much that is hardly surprising.  My 226 tho never leaves my side regardless!

I can understand missing it tho if with you all the time - it is a most reassuring thing to have on the person.

I haven't gotten to that number for a spring change.   Glad all with well.  What ammo are you using?

Dave, you are just not shooting enough! ;)

How is Nancy doing? ???

She is hobbling around.  Says her foot hurts more than the last time it was operated on - goes back to work on Monday.  Has a big pin sticking out of a toe for now - looks painful.

As far as not shooting enough that is correct.  All the shooting posts here though helps fill the empty space.

Is Kathleen's surgery scheduled yet?

Dave, she had her last chemo last Friday a week ago. She is still sick to her stomach and throwing up. Surgery is March 20th. Then 6 weeks rest and then 6 weeks of radiation.

My prayers are for Kathleen being able to regain her strength as the surgery approaches.  I realize it must be hard on both of you having to be apart at this time.

Chris- how about a picture of your 226 - I'm sure sometime in the past you posted one.

Yes, have posted before but - y'er tis again :)

This is the stainless, with CT grips and night sights - an awesome platform I find tho for many folks I daresay too heavy - but as I have said on occasions large and heavy is my thing!
