Title: What size gun should Shaq carry?
Post by: Paveway on October 27, 2006, 12:14:31 AM
Did you see the picture of Shaquille O'Neal holding a handgun? I read that he is a planning to be a Sherrif's deputy in Florida after he's done with basketball. Bravo Shaq!

At 7'1 and 325 pounds, does he even need a gun? :o
Well, of course he does, but most service pistols look, well, kinda tiny and like pocket pistols in his hand. He will need a Chevy Tahoe to drive, one especially large piece of body armor and some size 17 shoes. Can you imagine being chased down an alley by this guy? Glad he's on the good side of the law!

So what should he be issued/allowed to carry? My choices would be:

1.HK MK23 mod.0 SOCOM .45 ACP
2.Desert Eagle .357 Magnum
3.S&W .460 or a special built X frame with a proper service caliber
4.Some other big honkin' thing that is built just for him in .40 cal

Whaddaya think? ;D

What about one of the new FNH USA FS2000 "Bullpups" as a "sidearm," with a custom-made holster (of course) to accommodate its OAL of 29.1 inches, and a S&W .500 as a back-up pocket gun?   :D

Way to go, Shaq!

I reckon a stainless SIG 220 - .45acp should do just fine :)

I choose large and heavy for 1º with my 226 ST - that'd be about the same.

I'm thinking the MK23 will fit him just fine.  He can use a USPf as back-up.

When I had jury duty in Broward county, we were being escorted to the court room by a Sheriff's deputy and being thr foreman on the jury I was first in line behind him and struck up a conversation with him commented that he wasn't wearing a firearm and he replied that he was afraid of guns because they make too much noise.

I should add that he was about 6'2" or 6'3" and looked like he weighed 400 pound of solid muscle -- he was built like a tank!
