Title: 90 Grain Ammo
Post by: andyzx6r on March 21, 2008, 03:17:39 PM
Has anyone had any experience with 90 grain ammo and its performance from the R9?  I.E. recoil, expansion, anything like that.  I would imagine that if someone was to use 90 grain ammo they may as well use a .380 instead of 9mm unless the 90 grain 9mm performs better.

You are forgetting something.  Velocity.  Disregarding any type of bullet design and mushrooming capeability.  The 90gr from a 9mm is generally going to have a much higher muzzle velocity than a 90gr from a 380.

Good point.  I haven't been able to find any 90 gr. in a non +p round.  Does anyone know of a good one to try?  I have done some reloading in the past with 9mm on a friends equipment and guess maybe I could load my own rounds if needed.

Ammoman has a Federal 95 gr. JSP standard pressure for sale.
Other than that I don't know anything about it. $140 for 500
rounds.
