Even though you currently won't have a R9 after the sale make sure you stay on the forum - I enjoy your posts.

I would also trade the R9S & accessories for a brand new Seecamp .380, new in the box with all paperwork.

I understand in your post, you don't want to split any of it out......
But if you should ever change your mind, PLEASE let me know. I'm very interested in just about everything else you have as accessories.  :)
Thanks

pwelsh4hd, welcome to the forum.  Glad to see you here.

Thanks for asking about the accessories.  I need to sell it all together, else I would have some unused items.

Bill,
If it isn't too personal, why trade a vintage wine for
a Beaujolais?
Title: Re: R9S and accessories for sale (Michigan)
Post by: Michigunner on June 02, 2006, 10:24:25 PM
"a light fruity red burgundy wine made from the Gamay grape"

That was a hard one, tracker.  It required a visit to the dictionary.

My drink of choice is beer, only occasionally, because my wife doesn't think it is good to get drunk.  :D

The main reason for trading is I'm jealous of Dave and Brenden having all those Seecamps.

Bill,

It is a good idea to sell it all as a group.  If you find you would need to do a trade at a gun shop, or need to drop the price of the pistol without taking a loss from your total asking price - let Richard (the ole African guy who loves elephant hair braclets) buy your pocket elephant holster.  I would be happy to take everything else accessories wise off your hands  - except don't need the shoulder holster.  Maybe the shoulder holster will fit your new J frame S&W.

Still though the total original deal of the R9 and accessories would be a great buy for someone and I hope that works out for you.

I still thank you for the RJ pocket holster you sold me - although you wouldn't part with the mag holder.  :)

Speaking of elephant hair bracelets I have one also - thanks to Tom.

For everything you are offering Bill I think the price is too low - hopefully someone will see the value of this package.

All of your extras must be approaching $200 - so you are really selling the R9 (with what comes with it in the case) for $550.  And the R9 only has 83 rounds.

Thanks, Dave.  It really is an absurd price, but nobody was making any offers, so drastic measures were required.

I'm trying to reduce my inventory to more manageable levels.

The point of the comment about the Beaujolais wine wasn't quite addressed by the dictionary.  A Beaujolais is a wine that is made in the Spring and is meant to be drunk young, as soon as it is bottled.  You never age a Beaujolais.

So the real question was, why trade in something that is already good and will hopefully get better for something as-yet untried?

I think the new, black R9's are stunning, and I now wish I'd waited to buy mine, so I could get a new one instead.  But I'm not willing to take a loss trading in the old one that is, so far, flawless, to buy a new one for more money.

Also, I'm curious... I didn't study the specs on the new ones, but won't the old accessories still work?  The holsters, screws, springs, etc.?  The gun is basically the same, right -- just the finish is different?  Or did I miss something?

Just curious.

I was plenty happy with my R9S.  It worked great.

One of the problems of getting a little older, is it becomes increasingly difficult to operate a slide when there is such a small surface to grab.

I was feeling a little wierd carrying around one of those rubber disks which are used to open jar tops.   :D

Bill - you just carry that S&W for awhile.  If another R9 is to be in your future so be it.

Just stay on the forum.  What to see you posting on the "Outside My Windows" thread.  Plus you have the backfgroud to still make great R9 posts.

Helluva a deal!! ;D

When I put skateboard tape on my R9, I put a little piece on the slide, too, which helps a LOT in racking it.

Can't post a picture yet because my camera broke when it fell off my bike during the Bike NY Five Borough tour.  When I get a new one, I'll try to remember to post one.  But there are 7 raised lines on the back of the slide, and my grip tape covers the back three, which is just enough to give me an extra grip, but not too much that it hangs up in my holsters.  I'd originally put more on, but I had to cut it back because it made some of my leather way too tight.  You're right, though, that you certainly don't want to have to carry around one of those jar openers to use for racking a slide -- then what would you use to open jars at home?  You'd have to shoot them.   ;D

After all that you have shared with the group here in experiences, ideas and friendship......I would think it quite difficult to part with the pup that was the common thread.  All the accessories have memories, too.....most of them probably very good....some not as good.  The "tie that binds" comes to mind.
But then I am unusually sentimental about things that bring a smile to my face.....and I have the excess of "good stuff" to prove it.
Bill, I hope it worked out for the best for YOU.

Title: Re: R9S and accessories for sale (Michigan)

It's been just slightly difficult to rack the slide, considering the small area to grab.

That's about the only negative aspect of ownership for me.  I'm still debating about how serious that is.

It performs like a champion if you keep it clean and freshly lubed.

Thanks for the kind thoughts.  This is the best gun board ever.

Thank you, Dave.

There are plenty of good friends here, and more coming every day.

My Comcast high-speed connection was down Sunday, and they will not send service people until Friday.  I'm not too happy about them.

The only reason we might stay with the same ISP is that our email is published here and there.

These people don't realize how fortunate they are to have customers.

We are on a dial-up notebook right now.  Not much fun.

Sorry for the rant, but I had to tell someone, and you guys are the sharpest, smartest people I knowl   :)

Sorry you are on the slow track Brenden - oh well as long as you're fast on your feet.  Just checked my speed and it is 54 Mbps - think that is 1080 times faster - hope one day you will be on a faster connection.   We are lucky - my wife's
company pays for our home connection since Nancy will use the computer to do work at times so we have a business service.

Is DSL offered there since you don't have cable?

DSL sounds mighty good, compared to dial-up.

Brenden, I was downright lucky that the pup did not go for the price asked.  That was a downright stupid amount which I proposed.

I lucked out big time.

I ended up going satellite Brenden - may have mentioned before.

Several downsides - way too expensive - latency prob's so vid conferencing etc not good and even at top whack only peaks at 1Mbits/sec.

Despite that it does save me a huge amount of time over any day's use.

I have a dial-up backup in theory - only prob is the dial-up modem crashes my system :(

No DSL available either!!Satellite is less expensive than it was when I checked a couple years ago though!!
But I thought that DSL would be available by now too.. ;)
Bill,
Yes-you would have probably kicked yourself in the posterior if the pup would have left you..
