Title: Rohrbaugh Collectable Holiday Auction (Look Now!)
Post by: DDGator on December 18, 2009, 11:37:51 AM
Holiday Auction

This is auction for some very unique Rohrbaugh collectable items.

These are three tie tack / hat / lapel pins made up by Ed Kaspshak (edk on the forum) in the shape of R9 pistols. They are solid silver and they are blackened with a mild acid that is applied with a very small artist's brush.

These are the first three prototype pins.  Eric Rohrbaugh was involved with tweaking and consulting on the design.  Each one will come with a “letter of authenticity” on Rohrbaugh Firearms letterhead, signed by Eric Rohrbaugh, explaining the significance of these prototype pins.

One pin is Two-Tone, the other two are all black, like the discontinued Special Forces model.

Soon these items will be offered for regular sale, but the new all-black pins will be detailed like the current Stealth model.  The retail price will be around $90 due to the pure silver content and the hand detailing.

These three pins will be separately auctioned, right here on the forum.  Many thanks to Eric Rohrbaugh for donating these unique items!

Rules for the Auction:

Post your bids on this thread.  Each pin is being separately auctioned.  Indicate which pin you are bidding for:

Pin 1:  Two Tone model
Pin 2:  Black with front sight
Pin 3:  Black with no front sight

Bidding will close at 10pm EST (based on forum time) on Monday, Dec. 21, 2009.  The pins will be shipped from the Rohrbaugh factory upon payment to me – via PayPal or other satisfactory arrangements.  I can wait for a check if you are not in a hurry to receive these by Christmas.  If timely payment is not made, the item will be placed back up for auction after notice to the high bidder.

Minimum bid is $50 each – the silver content is worth more than that!

All proceeds will benefit this forum.   Let the bidding begin!

Why not put these as three different items on Gunbroker.com?  You'd reach a wider audience and the bidding process would be smoother.  Just a thought...

Joyous Christmas

If you're going to do this on this forum instead of through an auction place, please put the 3 items on 3 different threads.  This is getting too complicated and it's just started.  Thanks

Chinook -- I may separate it out -- let me see how this goes...

I wanted to do the auction here b/c Eric and I want a forum member to have these.

So far, bidding is at $100 for each of the three.  Thanks, guys!  ;)

Bieng that #1 is two tone I will leave the bidding to holders of two tone R9s.
If it were all silver like my R9s I would place another bid. Maybe when the production models come out there will be that option.  ;D

Bravo John! Where is the Robar tie tac? And, why are they all configured from the "public side" of the gun?

I don't know why I even want a tie tac - hat pin - lapel pin. I  seldom wear a hat and only wear a jacket with a lapel and tie if I need to go to a wake or funeral.  :o
Now an auction for a one of a kind custom ser. # Rohrbaugh would be of a lot more intrest to me.  ;D

I'm with you there, John.  I wore a tie every working day for the most part of 31 years and retired at 55.  Haven't wore a tie since, except for what you mentioned.

Ditto kjtrains. I used to enjoy a suit and tie at the work space but the casual trend came by way of California.

I, too, wear a suit and tie at funerals and weddings (only).

Get out of there, Brenden! And be nice to the nurses. Take it from me -- they know how to hurt a man if they're crossed.   ;)

Merry Christmas, my friend.

For whatever reason (I hope nothing serious), Pin #2 has remained unclaimed.  If I don't hear from the winner by tomorrow, I will offer Pin #2 to the next highest bidder, or auction it off again if necessary.

Thanks.

I will be keeping an eye on the forum if you do decide to do another auction though!!
