Title: New Pup
Post by: yankee2500 on October 24, 2010, 12:07:17 PM
I got a new pup a couple of days ago it is completely stock only 100 rounds through it.
I have some plans for it but they will take a while and I hate waiting. :(
So here are a couple of Before pics and when I get the pup finished I will post the After pics.

Great, John; exciting times.  Glad you joined the more than one!   Another Robar, maybe?    :)

I have had more than one on a couple of occasions. ;D
I can tell you that this one won't be going to Robar, I don't like repeat performances. :o

John,

It looks mint! Congratulations! Are you going to have custom work done to it? You know, that is what I have in mind for Pup #2, but haven't decided about exactly what to do, or who will do it. I am leaning heavily toward Cogan, as they did Corey's R9, which he put up a picture of a few months back.

That pretty much describes what I want done: silver frame, slick up the slide, maybe soften the edges (but not sure about that) and checker the grip frame, front and back, and the front of the trigger guard, as I'm one of those shooters. I was all ready to do it, when R293 came into my life. Now, it must wait a while. But worth it.

OK, John, I will stop guessing and wait for you to tell.    ;D

It won't be a one shop job, it could be as many as three or four places doing different pieces of the project. If it all comes together there will be some previously unseen things done to this pup. :o ;D

Well after a couple of days of phone calls and internet exchanges I can see bringing my ideas to life is going to be a challenge. :o

The challenge is starting to become a real uphill battle, I like the looks of the Mag-na-Port porting on autos but I guess thats out. :'(
I'm having a similar problem with one of the other items I want done.

Well I wish I had an update worth mention but the pup is still as received and no breakthroughs on making any of the ideas a reality.
Obviously the Mag-na-Porting is out of the question.(http://i413.photobucket.com/albums/pp216/yankee2500/crying-022.gif) so porting itself may not happen, nothing different about having Bob Cogan drill two holes on the top of the slide.

John if all you want is something different just get Bob to drill those holes in the bottom of the barrel and have the frame holes wedge cut.  That way it whistles every time you shoot it.  Then you will have something different!

Corey,
I looked at the Conamyds but things like that are only done by the guy who came up with the idea and has the setup to do it. It would cost a lot for another machinist to program that and get the tooling, one idea I had a guy told me it would be $800 to $1000 to do.  :o

Well things may be looking up a little, as of right now it appears some of the ideas may become reality. ;D
More news as it becomes available.

Well some of the ideas are now doable but I am putting the pup project on hold for a little while. There are other things in the works that are a higher priority. :o
