Have any of you forum members hear that ammo prices are set to jump again? I have a friend who retired a few years ago and took a part time job with the local Wal Mart. He was told by the manager of the Sporting Goods department that they expect ammo prices to double by July 2011.
I guess that's a good backdoor way to disarm us - price ammo so dear that we can't afford to shoot. >:(
-
I hadn't heard that but it doesn't surprise me for the reasons you stated. That is an effective method of back door gun control without the label.
-
I haven't heard that either. Sure hope they're wrong.......but this day and time, you never know. :(

After checking a few sources it appears there may be some basis for the prospective higher ammo prices. Allegedly, it is due to higher lead and copper costs and there is no doubt that the price of metals has increased in the past year.

Probably has to do with the price of gas as well; delivery of raw materials and the like going up.

Time to stock up.
I did.

Sounds like a good plan. With these recent rumors it won't take long for shelves to be bare again.

I did too, and some time ago. :) Hope everyone heeds the good advice.

This thread just cost me! A couple cases of "stock" for the future are on the way.

Hear taht sound? It's my money emptying from my wallet...but ammo is as good as cash when the stuff hits the fan....
-
I think it is better than paper money.

Hey, any kind of money. Just good to have that ammo.
