Yesterday I had the opportunity to get together with Oleg Volk. I've known Oleg for about 8 years now. For those who don't know who he is, he does extraordinary photo work for a number of entities in the shooting industry. Some examples are Kel-Tec, STI, Cricket Rifles, CCM mag photos, etc. He's very knowledgeable with respect to handguns, rifles, ammo, and all things shooting related. He's a super nice guy as well.
Here's some pics of some of my stuff:

Excellent lookin' stuff, K-Man!

Kevin,
Fine looking leatherwork and nice pics.
-
That is some truly fine work there, Kevin. (By the way, does Aaron Tippin know you have his guitar? I can clearly see his signature there on the front. ;) )
-
Always enjoy looking at fine leather.
Thanks

Very nice collection of "stuff". The grips on the R9 look great!

I saw those grips "up close and personal" when Kevin and his lovely wife stopped by for lunch on their way through Tennessee earlier this year. He made the grips himself, of course, and they are things of beauty.

I bet the picture does not do them justice. The grain in the wood must look even better in person. He must be a very talented woodworker.
-
Very talented, for sure, in wood and leather. :)

Thanks for the kind words everyone - it's much appreciated. Here's a couple of pics of some other woodwork I've done. The peghead of the guitar is inlaid with genuine ivory. The scrim work was done by a friend.

The grip has mother of pearl inlaid; the wood is ebony.

And a "special beverage" flask:

Let's do a little thread drift here. ;D Picked up this mandolin a couple of weeks ago. Traded two other cheesey ones for it. This one was made back in the mid-80's. It's much better quality than the current ones made for Kentucky, which are now made in China. This one was made in Japan. I put new, lighter strings on it. I also got the arm rest and pickguard the other day. (I did not make these.) They are tiger maple. The arm rest makes a big difference in comfort of playing. I made the strap. Want to make a strap for it that incorporates both round and flat braiding. Will be learning how to do that over the next few months.

Anyways, I'm learning how to play the mandolin and am focusing on the bluegrass style. Being in Kentucky currently lends to a lot of that style. And for being an A-style mandolin, it has an exceptional amount of sound and is very loud in that respect.
Any other mando players here?

K-Man,
Very nice God given talent you have. If I had that flask in my hand I would take a sip of some Woodford Reserve in your honor.
Sincerely,

Oleg takes some great pics, but he had a lot to work with. Thanks, Kevin.
