Title: DEALING WITH SPAMMERS
Post by: backupr9 on October 08, 2011, 10:08:10 AM
Could we not go to "modify" and add "SPAM" to the subject line of these postings so no-one will have to open them to find out that they are spam?

Only Duane would have that power. ;D

Several members do a good job of keeping me in the loop.  I usually look every morning, but sometimes work or life interferes.

I think you can change the topic that comes up in the most recent displays view, but not the actual thread title.

I am hoping for a "report spam" button at some time in the future with a one-step removal process for me.  I even toyed with an idea that users with more than a certain number of posts here could blow out spammers with one click.  I am just not sure if that is possible as a practical matter.

The war, however, is on.

I have started deleting some of them before they even post their first message -- because I can see the pattern based upon their username, e-mail address, and time of registration (always the wee hours of the morning in the Western world).

Unlike the criminal justice sytems, which is designed to let some guilty men go free so that innocent men never go to jail -- my system allows for a certain number of innocents to get nuked. ;)  We can always fix it later.

Nuke-em all sort them out later. ;D ;D

Yep.  Duane.  Take 'em out.  Let us know if we can help.
