Title: CF Grips From Curt & New R9s
Post by: scar2783 on November 19, 2009, 10:04:14 PM
Gents,

Been a lurking member of the site for a number of months now, as I didn't have my R9 at the time. Well, my R9s FINALLY arrived today and I have to say what a work of art it is.  I'm thoroughly happy with it and it shot great at the range without any problems whatsoever. I have to admit that I haven't felt this way about a new gun in a long time.

I also installed the glossy carbon fiber grips from Curt and man, it really set off the gun. They just screwed on without any issues and just look fantastic on it. If anyone has an inkling of wanting to buy a set of any of the three Curt is offering, I highly recommend they do so.

I'd attach a few photos I took of my gun with the CF grips on it next to another new gun with the factory grips, but I'm highly computer illiterate. So, Curt is going to be me a favor and post them for me in a subsequent message.

Mark

Mark & Curt,

Beautiful grips that add to the character of the R9.  Mark, welcome to the forum and I fully understand your response to the gun.  Visceral!

Added question, Anyone seen any bloodwood grips for the Rohrbaugh?  Mine is a Stealth and I'm wondering if stippled bloodwood would be as nice as I imagine.

Welcome to Mark and congrats on the new pup and its CF grips!

Mark.  Welcome to the Forum.  Congratulations on getting the R9 and the grips.  As you and Carlos mentioned, the CF grips do set off the R9.  You have a right to be proud, for sure.

Curt.  Great looking pictures and grips.

Thanks so much Carlos and kjtrains for the warm welcome. Shot the gun this weekend without incident. I feel very fortunate to have this handgun in my arsenal...

Are the carbon grip lighter than standard? Do you have an accurate scale?

Hi ccw,

I haven't weighed the original grips or the CF that I sell so I'm sorry I can't answer your question.
I can tell you that the difference (if any) is negligible.

If I can locate an accurate  scale, I'll weigh both sets and post their weights.

Thanks

Don't know if Curt has any left or not, but send him an email.  Here's a link from the Classifieds.
