Now that does make a pretty picture Richard!

My VZ Grips are back in PA and I'm in OH (with my pup) - won't connect with them until Monday or Tuesday.

Richard.  Those VZ grips look excellent.  I do like the choice.

BZ [Bravo Zulu] on the VZ, Richard. Beautiful, as usual.

They sure are nice, I must agree. I went to the website after seeing those beauties and it sounds like they are very similar to G-10 in terms of materials. Am I correct in that? Those almost look like wood and I saw some "cherry" grips that also looked pretty nice so I guess they are going for the faux wood look. Or do they do wood.  I did see on their website a black pair that they call smooth. Has anyone seen those? They really do not look smooth but they appear to have some pattern in them. What I am thinking since the carbon fibers are no longer made and although they are beautiful over 300+ a pair is a bit much, at least for this guy. If I were restoring an old Farmingdale, I could see it. Anyway if they could make something that looked similar to the carbon fiber grips, I know I would jump on them.

I think in it they mention that ther are planning to offer carbon fiber in the future.

AFAIK the grips they currently offer for the pup are G10 - the same material that the factory grips are made from. I think the appearance of texture on the grips called "smooth" is more the way G10 looks when contour machined which exposes the edges of the glass reinforcing layers in laminate (I've worked with G10 in some custom knives I've made so I'm familiar with the material).

On their website they also discuss micarta and its use as a grip material. Micarta is also a laminate similar to G10 - perhaps not as strong but much stronger than real wood - I don't think they ise micarta in grips for the pup but in my opinion it would be suitable. Micarta is available in more colors and textures than G10 and can look stunning (I also have worked with micarta for knife scales).

I have a set of VZ Grips waiting at home for me and I'm quite anxious to see them.

Supposedly they will have carbon fiber at Shot Show. The pictures I have seen are pretty nice depending on your taste of course.
